The Mug Show: Case Study

The Mug Show 1.0
The idea for this project came in an unusual way. The project was first to be introduced only as a YouTube Channel. However, as I am with every project how can I take it further? A website was born.
The Mug Show is an information website about topics that the user will have control over like: YouTube Celebrity, Celebrity, Films, TV, Music, etc. When these ideas were established on the table a few question raised from it.
- In the event that the site gets more writers, how can I make it easier for them?
- What technologies are out there that I could use to create this website fully functional?
Wordpress came into the loop as an idea, but was not taken into consideration quickly. I like to do things raw. However, with the simplicity to install Wordpress and design around it, it was obvious that if in the future I would have more writers a simple interface like Wordpress would be the perfect candidate.
The site follows my simple process of 8 steps. (check them out here)
But why not enjoy it on its full glory? Check the website by clicking here. The old version of the site is still live to bring information to the audience, however the works of a new version are being done behind closed doors.
The New version of this website will have the following features:
- A new interface with the focus on usability and getting the content that the user wants quick and painless.
- “The Social Mug” — A new Social Networking site so that the users can get to know other “Mug” Users and build a bigger community.
- A little bit of JQuery, BuddyPress, Wordpress MU.
This new version is currently being design and the technologies are being played around with so that I can understand each and one of them and apply them quickly and effectively. Expect the new version very soon…
