A day of Design

Posted under: General by Joel

So, you are a designer and you currently are looking for a job, clients, etc. However, you can’t be looking for jobs and clients all the time correct? Well you can do like me. I decided since I have a bit of more “free” time because of my current clients to hold the projects, because of the economy, helped me focus more on MY work.

Today, I decided to revamp a social information site called: “The Mug Show”. You probably have seen it on my portfolio, or even in Youtube! (since it comes up in the search suggestions lol). Or around. The Mug Show has been quite the step ups on my continous education that requires my industry. I learned Wordpress, SEO through that site and it helped solidify even more my CSS1,2, and 3 skills.

But why would you care knowing about that stuff? Well, if you don’t care, then why are you reading this? You must care because you’re reading… I thank you for that.

The new things for The Mug Show are going to be the following:

  1. Revamped Layout, Twitter Background, and YouTube Layout.
  2. Implementation of BuddyPress to create: “The Social Mug” or “The Mug Social” (still haven’t decided on a name to make the brand)
  3. Better SEO Handling. (Better placement of keywords, headers, etc. )
  4. Better Advertisement Placement, for maximum Revenue.
  5. Better usability. A user will be able to find the information he or she wants easier.

And other features that I might think as I work on it. This ain’t as a challenge as my portfolio, since most of this stuff I’ve got a pretty good knowledge on them. But I’m excited to see what new things I can learn from it.

And so…The Process Begins!
